Others may call it spontaneity – to me, it’s almost rudeness.

I’ve come across a lot of people that do this, from acquaintances to HR officers, and each time I raise my eyebrows in amazement.

What am I referring to?
The practice of asking someone to do something immediately and without planning ahead or even asking if they are available or interested in doing it.

I don’t know if I’m the only one, but to me, this seems almost disrespectfulwhat if I already have plans?
What if I need some extra time to get ready for the suggested activity?
What if I’m simply not available or it’s my me-time?

There are so many “What ifs” in this situation.

I guess you could say that I’m a planning freak.
Trello, an old friend of mine, helps me organize almost everything I need to do. I even schedule appointments and other obligations one to two months in advance – my best friends know the struggle is real. But I understand it too, because this is adulting, I suppose.
We all have our own lives and things to do, so it’s difficult to get everyone on the same page.

Oh, and since I’m here, I must say: since I am such a big fan of planning, I find it even more obtrusive when people “modify” them without letting me know or asking for my opinion. The ones who have this habit don’t usually stay in my life for very long. 🙂

I’m really curious what are your thoughts on the matter – can you tell me in the Comments section?

Do you have something to say?
